Don't Trash Heatherwood!
Keeping Heatherwood Clean and Beautiful is the responsibility or all residents.
Weekly Trash Pickup is on Wednesdays. (Brown Cart)
Recycling carts are placed at the curb every other Wednesday. (Green Cart with Black Lid)
Carts must be at the curb by 7am on Wednesday and returned to a place that is out of view by Thursday morning. Do not place bags of excess trash next to the cart. All items must be IN the cart for the city to pick it up.
Yard Waste is collected every week with your normal pickup and must be placed at the curb in approved paper lawn bags that are biodegradable, since it is composted. Lawn clippings, etc. can not be placed at the curb in plastic bags. It will not be picked up. Branches and Shrubbery Clippings can be placed at the curb every Wednesday too, just as long as they're cut to a size that is easily managed by one person.
Items for Bulk Trash Pickup (furniture, building materials from a DIY project, or excess trash from a move or clean out for example) can be placed at the curb for removal on the first Monday of the Month. (Not the first of the month.) You must call for a special pickup if your placing bulk items at the curb at any other time during the month.
Items containing Freon (Refrigerators, AC Units or Water Coolers) require a special pickup request no matter what time of the month and you can arrange that for a nominal charge with a call to Plano Environmental Service at 972-762-4150
